Meetings that marked paths and processes of formation define the project VAIVÉM, that configures itself as a space of production, in which artists and art critics suggest, during a month, an unlikely cohabitation. In this place, what sets the tone is the experience of contaminating the hermetic universe in which, not seldom, subjectivity is involved. In the meeting of an artist living in Japan and a Chile-based artist, of a French researcher and a Brazilian artist, but also in the clashes caused by a series of factors that separate one from another, resides the interest of the project, that will result on an exhibition after the 3-weeks residency. A series of activities with the participants and guests will address issues related to displacement as a way to accomplish a legitimate way of symbolic production. The documentation and records of the project will run on this blog, a tool for mediation and sharing with the public, that will be able to follow the progress of the project, thus creating an extended platform for the debate about artistic residencies and work procedures of artists and art researchers. With these tools, that constitute the pieces of a game, the artists and art critics approach the residency as correspondence, which restores ideas according to which the nomadism that qualifies our current society is not necessarily synonym of the displacement experience. In the context of the contemporary art, to displace oneself can also mean to find what is imperceptible in the commonplace.
